1st 10k in 3 weeks - Training advice

Hi everyone!

So I started running (inconsistently) back in March, but since mid-July, I've really started training consistently. I am currently starting week 6 of an 8 week Beginning 10k training program.

My question is about my training program. It basically consists of 4 runs per week slowly building up distance such that, at the end of week 7, the "long run" is 6m and the total for the week is 17.5m. I'm currently running between 3 and 4 miles per sesssion at around an 8:30-8:45 min/mile pace. Saturday is the first 5m run. The following Saturday is the 6m run, which is the longest before the 6.2 race. I'm enjoying the process and feel like my progress is solid. I'm maintaining or slightly improve my pace while adding miles each week. Last week I ran 13.9 miles, which is kind of unbelievable given where I was a couple of months ago!

But having just started reading some training tips online (including this forum), I'm concerned that the slow build-up and the relatively consistent pacing (T, Th, Sa are "moderate/hard" intensity, with Sunday as an "easy" 9:30-10 min/mile jog for active recovery) may not be the best approach to get me through that first upcoming 10k.

Should I reconsider my approach and add more miles these next two weeks, while simultaneously slowing down? Or am I just worrying because the race seems so close and I haven't added those last 2 miles yet?

Thanks in advance for your help!
