Hi, I have found myself less than a month from my first marathon and experiencing these symptoms after a short run. I saw that you were able to run your marathon with no problems after experiening the onset of symptoms. Congrats on your finishing well and strong!!I was curious what you ended up doing to help decrease the pain without interrupting your marathon.
I have taped my knee thinking that the support would help some, but it hasn't, the injury happened yesterday. I have been taking an anti inflammitary and I have been icing knee today and wrapped in an ace bandage to put some pressure on back of knee. I am really worried about how this will affect my marathon. I have a shorter long run tomorrow of 8 miles that I am not sure if I should do. I am set to do the Marine Marathon on October 26th and trying not to freak out. I am pretty sure that I am not doing the total rest thing.
